Green Economy has a limited number of training vouchers on offer for businesses operating in West Yorkshire that install solar, battery and heat pump technologies in commercial or domestic properties.

The training voucher scheme has been developed to upskill the local sector to retrofit existing properties whilst ensuring that the local sector can take advantage of market opportunities which arise as West Yorkshire transitions to net zero.

Voucher detail

As part of the WYCA’s Growing the Green Economy programme (UK SPF), businesses in West Yorkshire can access redeemable vouchers for L3 solar installation, L3 heat pump installation or MCS certification.

Who’s it for?

  • Solar and heat pump installation firms based in West Yorkshire who want to upskill their employees or secure MCS certification.
  • Electricial firms, electricians, plumbers or roofers based in West Yorkshire that want to diversify into the green tech sector and need to re-train or upskill.

Terms and conditions

  • The scheme is only applicable to businesses based in West Yorkshire – eligibility checks will need to be conducted in line with UK SPF programme requirements.
  • To undertake L3 solar or L3 heatpump installation there is a level of competency required prior to award of a voucher.
  • There is a financial contribution for the training element of the offer. Training vouchers can only be used with a pre-approved provider. 
  • MCS certification is 100% funded. 
  • No financial alternatives will be provided.
