Gtr Manchester to host free retrofit workshops

Businesses in the domestic retrofit sector are invited to a series of free workshops in Greater Manchester, as part of the University of Salford's Greater Manchester Retrofit Innovation Network, starting on 24th September in Manchester city centre.
The launch event for the network will take place from 9.30am until 2pm on Wednesday 24th September, in the Lord Mayor's Parlour at Manchester Town Hall. Everyone in the Greater Manchester retrofit supply chain is invited to attend.
The events are part of the wider Green Deal Communities programme, which is funded by the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC).
Delegates will have the chance to hear about the forthcoming series of events, and to catch up on the wider activities of the Green Deal Communities programme, including demonstration homes and useful delivery tools.
It will also be a good opportunity to network with others working in a similar area, and to catch up on the latest retrofit news, both locally and nationally.
New series
Following on from the initial event, a series of workshops will be held on a range of themes, at locations right across Greater Manchester.
Topics will include: the technical aspects of retrofit delivery; how to achieve best practice in project management; and relevant customer service issues, like how to engage effectively with residents.
There will also be opportunities to hear about case studies from the Green Deal ‘Go Early’ retrofits in Greater Manchester.
The aim of the programme is to share learning from previous projects and to spread best practice throughout the supply chain, to support Greater Manchester’s role in delivering energy efficiency improvements.
Businesses interested in attending should register online in advance.
